Read Acts 13:26-33, Ps. 2:6-11, John 14:1-6
“Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.” (John 14:1)
Today, Jesus beautifully assures us: “Let not your hearts be troubled.” How? We may ask. Jesus says: “Believe in God, believe also in me.”
So long as we are still on earth, there would always be something capable of throwing us off-balance. One popular pidgin English saying is: “This life no balance.” However, worrying is not a reflex action, it is how we choose to react to the events and circumstances of our lives.
Jesus tells us today, “Let not your hearts be troubled.” In other words, “Do not be worried.” Two people may be going through equal or similar circumstances yet their reactions would be different. You always have the power not to worry regardless of how tough or difficult your situation may be. All it takes is to believe in God.
Not even death should make us worried. Jesus says: “In my Father’s house are many rooms.” Jesus has already gone to prepare a place of peace for us. Think about it, no matter how perfect you wish your life can be, you cannot live forever on earth. Relax, stop worrying. If God wants to solve the problem, He would do it but if God is not taking the problem away, it is because He has better plans for you.
Everything must not be perfect before you can give yourself permission to be happy. To worry is to attempt to use your mind to solve your problem; if you keep doing this, you may run out of your mind. Just pray about it, take it off your mind, and let God handle the rest.
In today’s first reading, St. Paul teaches us that Jesus Christ was persecuted by a people he came to save. Even though they did not recognize Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah, they helped bring to fulfillment all the prophecies concerning Jesus. The people who killed Jesus did not even know they were helping to prove his authenticity as the Messiah.
Think of it this way: those people making life difficult for you now may just be helping to bring out the best in you. If Peninnah had not provoked Hannah to tears, do you think she would have prayed for a child in the way she did to the extent that Eli thought she was drunk? Let not your heart be troubled. God knows why things are the way they are today. Keep trusting Him.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” In other words. Jesus alone is the way. He deserves our complete trust.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, increase my faith and cast away my fears and worries. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Be Happy. Live Positive. Have Faith. It is well with you. God bless you. (Friday of the 4th week of Eastertide. Bible Study: Acts 13:26-33, Ps. 2:6-11, John 14:1-6).
